Roger Cook says new guns laws ensure DV victims are taken seriously, offenders hand in weapons
Premier Roger Cook says recently passed gun laws will ensure domestic violence perpetrators do not keep their weapons, after the release of explosive documents showing how a victim of an armed abuser was dismissed by police.
Mr Cook’s comments on Monday came after The West revealed that a woman — who this masthead has referred to as Annabel — had been dismissed by police as “vexatious, demanding and obtuse” when she warned them about her ex-husband’s stash of firearms.
