SAFE’s Cause For Paws event headed for 2024 Matso’s Street Fest
Last year Saving Animals From Euthanasia Broome recued 266 cats and kittens, along with 267 dogs and puppies, sparing hundreds of animals from a life of suffering or death on the streets.
Of those animals. the organisation successfully rehomed 106 cats and kittens and 185 dogs and puppies, totalling 291 pets adopted.
SAFE not only saves animals’ lives but also plays a crucial role in safeguarding local flora and fauna from the damage caused by homeless domestic animals.
The funds raised from this year’s Cause For Paws will be used to treat and care for most of the cats and dogs brought into the practice this year.
Cause For Paws will take place this year at the Matso’s Street Fest on the weekend of September 21-22.
Volunteer events and fundraising co-ordinator Rihanna Harvey said the finances supported an array of essential treatments for the animals.
“The funding will be used for vet bills and microchipping,” Ms Harvey said.
“It ensures we have the supplies that we need for our carers, including pet beds, food and accommodation.”
