Star Wars Outlaws Can’t Win As Popular Starfield Criticism Now Thrown at Ubisoft’s RPG, But With a Twist

Among the numerous issues that plagued Starfield at release, the constant appearance of loading screens was one of the most significant hindrances players faced. With Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws now released, many fans are wondering if the game suffers from the same problem.

Though the games are quite different from each other, aside from being set in space and being open-world, they are now being compared for their transition scenes. This is mainly because the transition scenes frustrated a lot of players in Starfield for how long they were and how often they appeared.

Are the Transition Scenes in Star Wars Outlaws as Bad as Starfield?

Transition scenes have always been a point of contention among fans, as they are often a disguise for loading screens, which can disrupt the overall experience of a game. While there is no denying that they serve a functional purpose, especially for massive titles like Starfield and Star Wars Outlaws, their constant appearance can restrict the flow of the game.

When Starfield was released, players immediately noticed the appearance of a transition scene when going to different planets. This was heavily criticized by fans, who felt it was unnecessarily long. Furthermore, as soon as players get off their ship in the game to set foot on the new planet, another loading screen pops up, adding to the frustrations of players.

Now, Star Wars Outlaws is getting flack for the same reason, as players are criticizing its use of transition scenes that serve as thinly veiled loading screens. Similar to Starfield, there is a transition scene in place whenever players travel to a new planet.

Fortunately, the transition scene isn’t as time-consuming as the one in Starfield. There are also fast points in the game that let you skip the whole flying to a different planet shenanigan, but if you do enjoy floating in the sky on your spaceship, be ready to encounter several transition scenes.

Fans Fume Over Kay Vess’ Ingame Look

Fans are furious over Kay Vess’ in-game look in Star Wars Outlaws, with many expressing disappointment and frustration with her design. Some fans feel that her appearance doesn’t align with their expectations for a leading character, especially when you consider the character’s design is molded around Humberly González.

It’s worth pointing out that Latina star Humberly González provided her voice and full-body motion capture in order to create Kay Vass’s in-game look and demeanor. However, it seems like fans aren’t happy with the result, pointing out that it fails to live upto the standards of a video game in 20224, especially for a AAA title.

It appears that there might be a disconnect between Kay Vass’ in-game appearance and Humberly González’s real-life look. Additionally, the game has garnered mixed reviews so far, and it seems that Ubisoft has left a lot to be desired.

What are your thoughts on transition scenes in Star Wars Outlaws? Are they as tedious as the ones in Starfield? Let us know in the comments below.
