Suspected armed robber loses control in high-speed car chase

A suspected car thief has led police on a high-speed chase through a suburb of Perth, in western Australia.

The driver raced through streets before losing control and spinning off the road, crashing into a fence before being chased on foot.

Police say they arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of threatening a woman, forcing her to get out of her car, before speeding off.

They said he was facing 17 charges, including armed robbery and reckless driving to evade pursuit by police.
