The Minecraft Movie Is Going to Face the Same Fate as the Borderlands Adaptation as Long as It Does Not Fix a Scene That Breaks the Very Fundamentals of the Game
Minecraft’s movie teaser has been recently released and it currently looks like a bleak reimagination of the game. It is also being criticized currently for one scene included in the trailer that is defying the fundamentals of the game.
The scene that does not fit well with the lore of the game needs to be fixed as soon as possible if the movie does not want to be subjected to the same fate as that of Borderlands.
Minecraft’s Film Adaptation Falls Short of One Thing
If Minecraft does not want to go down the same well as Borderlands’ recent adaptation, it needs to fix this one scene in the film that features Piglins in the Overworld where they are not supposed to exist according to the game’s lore.
Piglins belong to the Nether in the game and have never seen the light of day in the Overworld, which proves that the film is defying a serious aspect of the lore that should not be overlooked. The film needs to lookout for loop holes that might justify this action so that it fits well within the universe of Minecraft.
However, no such loophole has yet been confirmed, and the Piglins seem to be having a great time in the Overworld of their own accord.
Piglins can only exist in the Overworld in a zombie form, as they end up zombifying upon leaving the Nether and entering the world above. In the movie, however, they seem to be looking normal, which is something that was previously considered to be impossible.
Many fans have tried to come up with theories of their own as they dig deeper into the lore of the game.

There are speculations that the plot of the film might justify them being there without breaking the lore of the game.

However, nothing can be said for certain as of now.
Minecraft Should Not Face the Same Fate as Borderlands
Borderlands’ adaptation failed massively due to poor marketing and bad timing for release, which clashed with Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine. It also failed in adapting the game to the most of its potential and fell short of doing justice to the game.
Minecraft appears to be treading along the same path if the Piglins’ existence is not justified soon, as there is a high chance people might start getting angry about the lack of respect being shown in the film towards the game.
The film is scheduled for a spring release next year and there is a lot of time for the creators to justify their actions and clear the air of any possible miscommunication.
