Tropical Storm Francine Forms in Gulf of Mexico

A disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico officially became Tropical Storm Francine on Monday, September 9; the storm was forecast to make landfall along the coast of Louisiana later in the week.

Satellite footage shows Francine in the Gulf of Mexico on September 8 and September 9.
