UWA student guild loudly votes for university to cut ties with ‘apartheid Israel’

Pro-Palestinian student activists have been accused of “spewing hate” after loudly voting in favour of the University of Western Australia cutting ties with institutions of “apartheid Israel”— while also expressing a vote of no confidence in incoming Chancellor Diane Smith-Gander.

Students for Palestine WA — who earlier this year ‘occupied’ and then camped in at Curtin University — this week rallied members of the UWA Student Guild to hold a special meeting, to discuss an “immediate and just end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza”.
