What does Salute do in Hades 2? Treat, Confide, and Brood, explained

In Hades 2, although failing in a run is miserable, it at least gives me opportunity to interact with all the the people – and the frog – in The Crossroads. Saluting, confiding, and brooding and are all enjoyable, but do they do anything?

TLDR; they do nothing but provide fun and sweet interactions with the denizens of The Crossroads. That’s it.

I was positively surprised that such interactions were implemented into the game, it really gives The Crossroads that community feeling. You can interact with almost everyone and everything present, and I’d recommend that you do if you haven’t already.

These short and sweet interactions show the compassion in The Crossroads, and allow you to vent your frustrations to the faithful frog.

If you wish to Salute everyone in Hades 2, then seek out all of these characters:

  • Dora
  • Hacate
  • Odysseus
  • Nemesis
  • Schelemeus
  • Lord Charon

You’ll find Shemeleus, the Training Master, north of the Silver Pool. Dora can be found in Melinoe’s tent, just before The Crossroads proper.

Lord Charon can be found in the chambers where you buy items from him. He won’t say anything we can understand, but Melinoe seems to appreciate it.

There’s only one person, well, Frog, that you can Confide to. You’ll find Frinos right behind you when you spawn back into The Crossroads after defeat.

Depending on what you fell to, Melinoe will say something different every time you confide in him. Unlike other interactions, you can confide in Frinos as much as you want, although nothing new will be said. Melioe will just pet him.

There is only one, well technically two, creatures you can treat in Hades 2. The hound and polecat guards you’ll find just north of Odysseus. Unfortunately, you won’t actually see Melinoe give them a treat, but she’ll say something nice.

In the Crossroads in Hades 2, there’s one object you can brood at. The picture of Melinoe’s family in her tent (just north of Dora) can be brooded at. To remind Melinoe of her purpose and mission.

Upon brooding, you’ll get to see the picture, and you can brood as long as you like.

Saluting is just one of the things you can do with someone, however. You can also give them a gift for a Keepsake.
