XDefiant Secretly Adds Much Needed Feature in Latest Update
Ubisoft’s XDefiant free-to-play first-person shooter game was released earlier this year, and it quickly became a hit among gamers around the world. Initially, the game had a lot of issues, but with constant updates and Mark Rubin’s efforts, the game has significantly improved.
Ubisoft recently rolled out Patch 1.4, addressing various issues players were facing. In the update, Ubisoft has added a new feature that will completely change ranked matchmaking. Players are now praising Ubisoft for listening to their fans, but there are a lot more problems that need Ubisoft’s attention.
Ubisoft Added A Highly-Requested Feature In XDefiant
Patch 1.4 for XDefiant is here, and it adds various new features and changes to the game. There is one particular addition that players are glad Ubisoft finally added: input priority has been added to ranked matchmaking. This means that the matchmaking process in ranked matches will focus on putting players with the same input device in the same match.

This addition will change the matchmaking process, making it fair for all the players. Initially, players complained that XDefiant had matchmaking issues, but it seems like Ubisoft is using players’ feedback to improve the game.
XDefiant was revealed in 2021, and after being in production for 3 years, the game was finally released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 21, 2024. The game served as stiff competition for its rivals, but there are still many issues that can soon kill the game’s hype.
XDefiant Still Has Some Issues
Ubisoft is indeed working hard to improve the game, but many issues still need to be acknowledged in the future. Recently, a player pointed out that the game’s netcode needs to be fixed as it is completely ruining the gaming experience.
Many players believe that Ubisoft rushed the game and that they should’ve taken more time to improve it. It’s not just the technical issues that are ruining the game; it’s also the hackers.
Players have also pointed out that unlocking each tier in the battle pass is a very slow process compared to other games. The game certainly has a lot of issues, but developers are trying their best to make it better. With games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 releasing later this year, Ubisoft really needs to improve the game and add more exciting content to make sure that the game stays relevant.
Apart from the input priority ranked matchmaking, Patch 1.4 also included a new maximum ping limit of 125, spiderbot adjustments, sniper flinch balancing, a sticky grenade fix, and various bug fixes.
